More in Morpeth weekly update newsletter. For the duration of the current lockdown, the focus will be on guidance and support. Contact: moreinmorpeth@gmail.com
We are in the Third Lockdown with review scheduled for mid-February but dependent on roll-out of the vaccination programme. “All non-essential retail, hospitality venues, accommodation, leisure and sports facilities, entertainment venues, animal attractions and personal care facilities have to close.”
Government guidance covering reasons to leave home, permitted exercise, shopping, education and work are subject to ongoing review and re-interpretation – but the source information is at https://tinyurl.com/y6sq9ef2
The general vaccination roll-out is through GP Surgeries and the strong message is “don’t contact them – they’ll contact you”. It will be useful to have your NHS No. available. The Pfizer vaccine is in wider use, with the more robust AstraZeneca (Oxford) vaccine being used mainly in remote rural areas and smaller care homes. Many NCC (Council) services are running – see: https://tinyurl.com/yxnucvqa
Whorral Bank Tip is open for all domestic waste streams but controlled with access. Van & trailers with domestic waste only are allowed by permit & appointment
Bin Collection, Bulky Waste & Commercial Waste are all operating
Country Parks are open but cafes closed. The Leisure Centres & Museums are closed. Registrars operating by appointment only.
Morpeth Library is open for Select & Collect, and Book Returns 10am – 4pm Mon – Fri 10am – 1pm Sat but with no entry to the building
Food & drink market stalls as counted as essential retail so the Weds Market and Farmers Market (Sat 6th Feb) are running though traders are choosing to attend at individual discretion. Covid19 protocol suggests just one customer per household goes to the market and encourages pre-ordering and collection from traders where possible.
